Security
Security is our priority.
The only way for kids to be safe on the internet is for parents to be involved. Squag™ makes it simple. Our application is designed to make it easy for parents to keep track of their son or daughter’s activities online. Here’s how:
Parents register and download our SquagpadTM - a locked down, totally contained, visual space for parent and child to communicate. The content is curated, both by us, and by the parent allowing the child the safety to search freely without leaving the platform.
If and when the parent think their child is ready to ‘squag’, parents go through an application process to offer their child an opportunity to reach out to their peers. If their application is approved, parents use our sophisticated matching software, allowing their kids a starting point to make connections based on common interests and shared experiences.
Parents require a credit card to download the ‘squagging” enabled version of the application. Parents have their own usernames and passwords to update their child’s content and access transcripts from every squagging session. There is a reporting section of the parent website that gives them up-to-date information on their child’s activity online. Parents can track who their child is squagging with and when they are squagging, all from a simple and easy-to-use dashboard.
Squagging is always one to one. There are no receptacles where multiple users are squagging at the same time. Filtering technology is built into the application to help prevent the sharing of profanity, phone numbers, email addresses, and other inappropriate messaging.
There is no file sharing of any kind. Any photos or videos are for the user’s own personal use, in their own personal SquagpadTM. Users are encouraged to share thoughts about themselves like their favorite things, their hopes and their dreams, but this information is never connected to personally identifiable information.
SquagTM is currently undergoing a TRUSTe certification process to make sure that your privacy, and your child’s privacy, is protected. TRUSTe operates the world’s largest privacy seal program, certifying more than 3,500 websites, including leading online portals like Yahoo, Facebook, Microsoft, Apple Inc., IBM, and eBay.

Every application for membership will be reviewed by one of our staff members to ensure that applicants are well-intended members of the ASD community. Squag ™ reserves the right to refuse any application once it has been reviewed.
There is no outside advertising permitted within the application.
There is nowhere for your child to click out of the platform.
SquagTM is committed to your child’s emotional and physical security both on and off line. For information on how to discuss internet safety with you child please visit: Connect Safely
